Inside the Mercedes-Benz GLC

A luxury SUV has to do two things at once. It has to be genuinely pleasant to spend time
in, and it has to disappear into an ordinary Tuesday. The GLC manages both, which is a
large part of why it has become the most familiar Mercedes-Benz on the road.
Both the 2026 and 2027 models are on our lot right now, and in a few places the
differences are worth knowing before you narrow things down. Here is a closer look.

Composure in Any Weather

4MATIC® is usually the first thing prospective owners ask about. Anyone who has
watched a band set up over the lake and park itself on one half of the county
understands why. The system shifts torque between the front and rear wheels based on
what the road is giving you, so traction gets sorted out before you notice a problem.
Every GLC we stock is a 4MATIC® model.

4MATIC® models also get a Transparent Hood feature that can show you what’s directly
underfoot on the central display. Useful on an unplowed drive, or on gravel at the
cottage, where you’d rather not guess.
The GLC comes standard with 19-inch AMG® wheels, with options up to 20 inches. For
drivers who want to optimize further, a dedicated set of winter tires and wheels is one of
the smartest additions you can make to a car like this, and it’s what Mercedes-Benz
recommends for snow and ice. Our tire center can put together the right package.

The Lineup, Year by Year

The GLC 300 4MATIC® is the volume model in either year. A turbocharged four-cylinder
with mild hybrid assist, 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. For most drivers, this is
the one.

The GLC 350e 4MATIC® is the plug-in hybrid, built to run as an EV around town and as
a turbocharged SUV on longer trips. For the 2026 models, that’s an EPA-estimated 54
miles of electric range, enough that a fair amount of local driving never wakes the gas
engine. In the 2027 models, output is quoted at 313 combined horsepower and 406 lb-ft.
AMG® is where the two years part ways. For the 2026 models, the AMG® GLC 43
makes 416 horsepower from a turbocharged four with an electric exhaust-gas
turbocharger, with the AMG® GLC 63 S E Performance above it, a plug-in hybrid
carrying an electric drive unit at the rear axle. In the 2027 models, the character
changes entirely. The AMG® GLC 53 4MATIC®+ pairs a 443-hp turbo-hybrid inline-6 with
AMG® Performance 4MATIC®+ fully variable all-wheel drive, AMG® RIDE CONTROL,
and active rear-axle steering. Two more cylinders, and a different way of going about it.
Same footprint as the GLC you’d take to the grocery store, entirely different
temperament on an empty stretch of escarpment on a Sunday morning.

If the AMG® is what brought you in, it’s worth driving both before you decide. They are
not the same car.

The Cabin

Power front seats include three memory positions, covering mirror and steering column
settings for the driver, and the three-stage heating steps down automatically once you’re
warm.

There are 13 upholstery choices, from standard MB-Tex to leather and Nappa leather,
with dash and door trim in glossy or natural-grain wood or woven metal. The glass
Panorama roof tilts for ventilation, slides open, or closes off behind a fine-mesh screen.
A small detail worth calling out: there’s an in-dash fingerprint reader that pulls up your
saved preferences, and those profiles can be managed through the Mercedes-Benz
app. In a household where two people share a car, that solves a daily annoyance.

Technology, Quietly Useful

Third-generation MBUX includes an AI-based voice assistant and a Routines feature
that automates everyday functions based on location, conditions, or other parameters.
Set the seat heat and your morning station once, then stop thinking about it.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with a wireless charging
pad in the front console. A Digital Vehicle Key lets you unlock and drive using an
iPhone, Apple Watch, or Android phone.
There’s also GUARD 360°, which keeps an eye on the vehicle while it’s parked and can
capture photos with the exterior cameras if it senses the car has been bumped. Anyone
who has walked back to a ramp after a night at Shea’s and found a fresh scuff will
appreciate that one.

Assistance, When You Want It

DISTRONIC® adaptive cruise control is standard, with an available suite adding
steering assist, cross-traffic warnings, and Automatic Lane Change for multilane
highways. The Surround View System is standard, and Active Parking Assist can
maneuver into tight spaces and park hands-free. Safety equipment includes a front
center air bag positioned between the driver and front passenger.

See It for Yourself

Specs only tell you so much. The GLC makes more sense from the driver’s seat than it
does on paper, and we’d rather you form your own opinion than borrow ours. Browse
the GLC inventory online, then come see us and tell us what catches your eye.
