The New Mercedes-Benz GLC Earns The IIHS Pick+ Top Safety Rating

Recently, the Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV earned the highest award
from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The intelligent body
construction smoothly avoided collisions in the IIHS track tests and received
accolades for the vehicle’s upgraded headlights. Due to an intelligent mix of
aluminum, high- and ultra-high strength steels, the body is not only 110lbs
lighter, but it also provides an even more rigid passenger safety compartment
surrounded by deformation zones. In a series of five crashworthiness tests,
which include small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength
and head restraints testing, the GLC SUV received top ratings.

The GLC SUV not only received a “superior” rating overall,
but the model also joined the 2017 E-Class Sedan and the 2017 GLE SUV as Top
Safety PICK+ awarded by IIHS. We’re proud of Mercedes-Benz for providing safe,
reliable, and luxurious automobiles for our customers!
